Muscular Dystrophy Pakistan (MDP) is a dedicated organization working to raise awareness, provide support, and advocate for individuals affected by muscular dystrophy (MD) and other neuromuscular disorders in Pakistan. Mission & Objectives: Awareness & Advocacy: Organizing awareness campaigns, events, and social media outreach to educate the public and policymakers about muscular dystrophy. Support & Community Building: Providing a platform for individuals with MD and their families to connect, share experiences, and access relevant information. Research & Collaboration: Encouraging research on muscular dystrophy in Pakistan and collaborating with medical professionals, researchers, and global organizations. Policy & Rights: Advocating for the rights of people with disabilities, including accessibility, healthcare, and inclusion in education and employment. Key Initiatives: LGMD Awareness Day (30 September): Organized annually to highlight Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy (LGMD) and promote early diagnosis and support. Rare Disease Day (28 February): Raising awareness about rare diseases, including different types of MD, and the challenges faced by those affected. Patient & Caregiver Support: Offering guidance on medical management, assistive devices, and social inclusion. MDP aims to create a more inclusive society where individuals with muscular dystrophy can lead fulfilling lives with dignity and equal opportunities.
